The contractors have been busy and the demolition of the old shopping center is almost complete. They popped a gas line twice, and while we were a little nervous it was no big deal. HFD was on scene and never had any concerns, just precautionary supervision. We have no idea on the time line but hope they move forward quickly.
The long awaited redevelopment of the Robindell Center is underway with environmental remediation complete and plans in the final stages. The investor who acquired the property from the Kuldell family is facilitating the construction of a new grocery store under the banner ALDI. This retailer has over 1,000 stores across the United States primarily across the east coast with plans to build twenty or more units in Houston. Both BASKIN ROBBINS ICE CREAM and PAWVILLION – YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD GROOMER will remain on the property. Stay tuned as we update our facility over the next weeks and months. Many recent visitors have noticed the construction fence which limits our parking to beside and behind our building. This has proven to be a minor issue, with access to Beechnut via Albacore behind us, or through the subdivision via McAvoy. We do not have any updates at this time on the start date for demolition or construction but we would think it will happen pretty quickly. We hope you are as excited about this news as we are, and we appreciate your patience during the work.
